Excerpts from the Crow & Benjamin Letters

2.1

Crow,

You’ve had much
talk with scarecrows.

To bring one
to life, you know better.

You the sculptor will shape
then sing him animate?

Danger in the work as well
as the crowd. For myself,

I’ve decided against
immortality of corpus

but my ink I pray is
permanent. Will you ferry me

across and stick with me?
Return to us, return to them, as you say.
